Secondary Syphilis

Secondary Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by the spirochete Treponema pallidum and reflects hematogenous spread. Cutaneous manifestations include macular to papulosquamous eruptions typically on the palms and soles. Mucosal involvement is also common and includes patches and ulcers. Patchy alopecia is also observed. Secondary syphilis is also accompanied by constitutional symptoms of fever, headache, myalgia, and other flu-like symptoms.
